Does Menstrual Delay Medications have any Side Effects or Harms?
Like any hormone-containing drug, there may be some undesirable effects due to the hormone progesterone (gestagen), which is also included in menstrual delay drugs. These include increased sensitivity in breasts, swelling, fullness and changes in the amount of menstruation. These side effects are temporary and return to normal when the menstrual period returns within 1-2 months. There may be undesirable effects such as spotting or drip bleeding after the menstrual period, as well as rarely, nausea, vomiting and weakness.
Medications for menstruation, do not have serious side effects other than these, but it should be remembered that they are hormone drugs that should not be used outside of doctor's control.
