Natural Delivery or C-Section?
What matters most about the worrying and worrying mother and father candidates for nine months is how the delivery will be. While the cesarean rate in developed countries is around 15-25%, it is seen that this rate approaches to 50% in our country.
In normal birth, if we list the reasons that most often fear the expectant mothers;
- Pain
- The length of the labour
- Episotomy (incision made at the entrance to the vagina at birth)
- Problems that may arise with the baby
- Fear of not reaching the doctor when their pain begins
- Being affected by the negative experiences of relatives and friends about birth
However, the thing to remember is that; normal birth is the most natural and physiological way for all mammals to maintain their lineage for millions of years.
Delivery by cesarean should be perceived as an alternative, when normal vaginal delivery cannot be performed. It should never be seen as a superior form of birth, which has begun to gradually replace normal birth. You should get all the information about birth and make the best decision for your birth with your doctor.
During the follow-up of your pregnancy, it is very important to plan your normal birth and prepare yourself for this, unless you have determined otherwise.
