How Should the Menstrual Frequency and Amount in Adolescence?
Menstruation may not be regular during adolescence when menstruation first begins. It can be expected to enter the system after 2-3 years or until the age of 18. For this reason, menstrual irregularity is normal in girls who start to have new menstruation and does not require treatment. However, if excessive bleeding occurs, the cause must be investigated and treated. If the bleeding lasts longer than a week and is more than necessary to change the pads or developed anaemia in the adolescent, it should be accepted and investigated that the bleeding is very high.
